Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the stmmac network driver where the conversion of the RX path to zero-copy failed to maintain the NET IP ALIGN in the RX DMA offset. On architectures where NET IP ALIGN is 2, such as ARM32, this causes IP headers to be misaligned. This is critical on ARM32 because the ldm and ldrd instructions trap on unaligned addresses, leading to a kernel panic when the system processes certain network traffic, such as received echo requests. The fault occurs during the execution of the icmp echo() function when accessing the icmp hdr(skb).
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
