Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the virtio-net component where a user can specify an arbitrary
gso size in a packet crafted with an AF PACKET PACKET VNET HDR socket. If the gso size is set to a value smaller than 8, dividing the SKB length by this value can cause the 16-bit gso segs field to overflow. GSO (Generic Segmentation Offload) is a technique used to reduce CPU overhead by allowing the network card to handle the segmentation of large packets into smaller ones.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
