Description An issue exists in the VMBus module where the initialization function hv acpi init() does nothing when running in a non-nested root partition but still reports success, leading the module to be loaded without actual initialization. If this module is subsequently unloaded, the unload code attempts to clean up uninitialized components, which results in memory faults and a system panic.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
