Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak occurs in the SMC LLC (Shared Memory Communications Local LLC) implementation. When the
smc llc event handler() function transitions a local LLC flow from SMC LLC FLOW REQ ADD LINK to SMC LLC FLOW ADD LINK upon receiving an ADD LINK request, it calls smc llc flow qentry set() unconditionally. If a CONFIRM LINK or ADD LINK CONT request was previously stashed into the qentry variable, the subsequent ADD LINK request overwrites this pointer without freeing the previous allocation, resulting in the leak of one kmalloc object.Recommendations
As a temporary mitigation, restrict the use of SMC LLC features until the system is updated. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
