Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A null pointer dereference occurs in the FUSE filesystem when the root inode allocation fails, typically under memory pressure. The function
fuse fill super submount() fails to check if the result of fuse iget() is NULL before passing it to get fuse inode() and attempting to decrement the nlookup variable. This leads to a write to an invalid memory address, causing a system oops during the mount process.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
