Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the ksmbd module where a
file lock used for byte-range lock bookkeeping may remain part of the VFS blocked-request graph. Because the ksmbd file reference count does not cover this graph, the ksmbd close fd() function and the cross-request unlock path may free file lock objects while dependent waiters are still attached. This lifetime mismatch can lead to a system crash when locks release private() is called or leave a freed ksmbd lock reachable through its request-local llist (a lock-less linked list).Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
