Description An invalid pointer dereference occurs in the ksmbd stop durable scavenger() function. This happens when ksmbd launch ksmbd durable scavenger fails to run the kernel thread, resulting in the dh task variable becoming an error pointer. Subsequently, when server ctrl handle reset calls ksmbd stop durable scavenger, the kthread stop() function attempts to use the invalid dh task pointer.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
