Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the arm64 EFI implementation where a bad kernel memory access can occur on machines supporting EFI runtime services when using software PAN (CONFIG ARM64 SW TTBR0 PAN=y). The problem arises because the fpsimd context management code called from the
efi fpsimd begin() function can trigger voluntary preemption. This results in the system returning to the EFI code with an incorrect value for TTBR0 EL1 due to the deferred mm switching used by the software PAN implementation. The issue is triggered within the efi call rts() function.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
