Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the IOMMU VT-d component where the
intel pasid setup sm context() function fails to properly tear down scalable-mode context entries during a probe failure. When pci for each dma alias() encounters an error, it stops processing, potentially leaving context entries for previously processed Request IDs (RIDs) pointing to the device's PASID table. Because intel iommu probe device() subsequently calls intel pasid free table() without first removing these entries, the IOMMU may attempt to access freed memory via a present context entry.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
