Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A lock leak occurs in the BPF subsystem within the
irq work path. The functions stack map get build id offset() and bpf find vma() use a per-CPU irq work to defer mmap read unlock() from the Non-Maskable Interrupt (NMI) context. Because these callers only check if the work is busy before acquiring the mmap lock, a nested caller can reuse the slot before the first caller queues it. This results in two read locks being acquired while only one deferred unlock is executed, leading to a leaked read lock that blocks exit mmap().Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
