Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A deadlock occurs in the btrfs file system when running with autodefrag and flushoncommit. The issue arises because the defrag process reserves delalloc space while simultaneously holding the extent range lock and dirty, locked folios. This contention leads to a system deadlock involving the btrfs defrag file() function and space reservation mechanisms.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
