Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the drm/amdgpu/gfx6 component where compute queues on GFX6 hardware did not properly utilize the PFP ( PlayStation Firmware Processor). Because compute rings on GFX6 share the same CP (Command Processor) path as the graphics ring, the PFP must be used for register writes on both queue types. Additionally, the PFP should be used in pipeline synchronization to wait for the previous fence instead of the ME (Micro Engine) to prevent the PFP from executing a new submission while the ME is still processing the previous one. Finally, a PFP SYNC ME must be emitted on compute queues following a VM flush.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
