Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the ARM architecture implementation where the hw breakpoint cfi handler() stub incorrectly claims breakpoint type 0x03 (ARM ENTRY CFI BREAKPOINT) even when Control Flow Integrity (CFI) is not actively used in the kernel. This prevents userspace from utilizing this specific breakpoint type. CFI is a security mechanism used to ensure that the execution flow of a program follows a predefined graph, preventing unauthorized jumps to arbitrary code.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
