Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the FAT file system implementation where the fat rebuild parent() function fails to release the buffer head stored in sinfo.bh after successfully rebuilding the parent inode for the nostale ro NFS export path. This occurs because fat scan logstart() leaves the buffer head for the caller to release, but the release process is omitted after fat build inode() consumes the directory entry data.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
