Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
Multiple issues exist within the hid-asus driver. These include an unchecked size in the
asus raw event() function, an unclean teardown of asus probe() upon failure, and a possible use-after-free condition in asus probe(). Additionally, the driver uses multiple workqueues where one would suffice, makes sleeping calls in atomic context, and sends packets of incorrect size to the keyboard controller. To address these, the asus wmi send event() sleeping call is moved away from atomic context by joining the workqueues.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
