Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the PowerPC architecture when
GENERIC ENTRY is enabled. The syscall enter from user mode() function returns -1 as a sentinel to indicate that seccomp or ptrace has intercepted a system call and set a return value via syscall set return value(). However, system call exception() failed to handle this sentinel, causing the code to treat it as an out-of-range syscall and return -ENOSYS, which overwrites the intended error number in regs->gpr[3]. This affects both ppc32 and ppc64 architectures.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
