Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An out-of-bounds array access exists in the
mt7996 tx() function within the mt76 wifi driver. When mac80211 leaves the link unspecified, the function uses a primary link id that may be set to IEEE80211 LINK UNSPECIFIED (0xf) before the first link is added. This value is used without validation to index the vif->link conf[], mvif->mt76.link[], and sta->link[] arrays, which only contain 15 entries, leading to memory access beyond the array boundaries.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
