Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the mt7921 Wi-Fi driver where a PCIe Advanced Error Reporting (AER) error can cause the bus to hang. When this occurs, register reads return 0xFFFFFFFF, which corrupts the DMA queue state and leads to an invalid memory access when the system attempts to access
q->desc[] or q->entry[]. This can result in a system crash. The issue is triggered during operations involving the mt76 dma add buf() function. Due to hardware limitations, such as the lack of a connected hardware reset pin, some devices may not fully recover to a normal operational state even after the error is handled.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
