Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
The folio batch mechanism used for iomap zero range fails to release the batch during specific error scenarios. This occurs when calls to the
->iomap begin() or ->iomap end() functions fail, causing the direct return paths to bypass the necessary batch cleanup. While the ->iomap end() scenario is currently impractical, the ->iomap begin() scenario is theoretically possible, particularly when XFS invokes the fill helper and subsequently encounters an error.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
