Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A Use-After-Free (UAF) issue exists in the RDMA/rxe component. The function
rxe odp mr init user() assigns a memory reference to mr->umem before calling rxe odp init pages(). If rxe odp init pages() fails, the system releases the memory but fails to reset mr->umem to NULL. Subsequently, the error handling process calls ib umem release(), which attempts to read freed fields such as umem->is dmabuf because the NULL check is bypassed. Use-After-Free is a condition where a program continues to use a pointer after it has been freed, which can lead to crashes or unauthorized memory access.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
