Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the arm scmi firmware component where the scmi protocol table register() function fails to properly roll back registrations. When a later entry in an ID table fails, previously registered requests remain active. Because these requests maintain a pointer to the driver's ID table, a failed module load results in a dangling pointer after the module storage is released. A dangling pointer is a reference to a memory location that has been deallocated.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
