Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A memory leak occurs in the ext4 init orphan info() function when reading orphan file blocks using ext4 bread(). If the function successfully retrieves a buffer head but subsequently fails during orphan block magic or checksum validation, it triggers an error path that skips releasing the current buffer head at index i. This results in a leak of the buffer head reference.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
