Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the BPF (Berkeley Packet Filter) subsystem where btf find struct field() initializes a new seen mask for every recursive descent. This prevents unique special fields at different levels of the same aggregate from recognizing each other. Consequently, duplicate fields can reach btf parse fields(), triggering an invariant WARN ON ONCE() warning. A crafted user BTF (BPF Type Format) can trigger this warning before the system performs capability checks during map creation.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
