Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A race condition exists in the dw-edma component of the dmaengine where the pause() and resume() functions read and update channel state without holding the vc.lock lock. Simultaneously, interrupt handlers update the same state while holding the lock. This inconsistency can lead to a state where pause() records EDMA REQ PAUSE on a channel that has already transitioned to EDMA ST IDLE, causing the channel to become permanently wedged. Additionally, the issue pending() function tests the configured state before acquiring the vc.lock, which prevents the configured, request, and status variables from being evaluated as a single consistent snapshot.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
