Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A memory reclaim deadlock can occur in the TX EQTR context of the UFS core. This happens when TX EQTR runs while devfreq gear scaling has quiesced the UFS tagset. In this state, the functions ufshcd tx eqtr(), ufshcd tx eqtr(), and ufs qcom get rx fom() allocate memory using GFP KERNEL. If direct reclaim is triggered, the reclaim or writeback process may depend on I/O to the UFS device; however, since the queue is quiesced, a deadlock occurs. The issue involves the allocation of params->eqtr record in ufshcd tx eqtr(), eqtr data in ufshcd tx eqtr(), and params in ufs qcom get rx fom().
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
