Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the Operating Performance Points (OPP) framework where an incorrect initialization order of pointers leads to an improper sequence of registered cleanup functions. Specifically, when
*opp table is initialized after *opp, the release function opp kref release() may attempt to access opp->opp table after it has already been freed, resulting in a use-after-free error. A use-after-free is a memory corruption issue that occurs when an application continues to use a pointer after it has been released.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
