Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the dax/fsdev component where the fsdev dax probe() function sets pgmap->ops to &fsdev pagemap ops and pgmap->owner to dev dax without providing a mechanism to clear them upon unbinding. For static devices, the pgmap is shared and long-lived. When fsdev unbinds a static device, stale fsdev pagemap ops remain on the shared pgmap. If the device is subsequently rebound to device dax or the fsdev dax module is unloaded, a memory failure event on that pgmap may trigger a dispatch through a stale or potentially freed handler.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
