Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the DAX fsdev component where the
vmemmap shift value is not cleared when binding a static pgmap. When a static device is rebound from device dax to fsdev dax, a stale vmemmap shift persists on the shared pgmap. This occurs because device dax may set the shift based on alignment, whereas fsdev requires the vmemmap to be built for order-0 folios. The fix involves explicitly zeroing the vmemmap shift before calling the devm memremap pages() function.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
