Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
ath12k wifi driver where the ath12k mac vdev create() function for an AP vdev can lead to a use-after-free condition. When a step following ath12k peer create() fails, the process jumps to err peer del, which triggers a WMI peer delete without first calling ath12k dp link peer unassign(). This results in dangling pointers within the dp hw->dp peers[peerid index] RCU table, the dp peer's link peers[] array, and the per-addr rhashtable, as they continue to point to a dp link peer that has been freed by the ath12k dp link peer unmap event() function.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
