Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A use-after-free issue exists in the RDMA/rvt component. The
rvt alloc device() function deallocates the IB device when the port array allocation fails, but it continues to return the pointer to the released memory. Because callers interpret any non-NULL value as a valid pointer and attempt to dereference it, the system may crash or be compromised. Use-after-free is a condition where a program continues to use a pointer after it has been freed, which can lead to memory corruption.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
