Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A NULL pointer dereference occurs in the san probe() function when installing the GSBUS address space handler. This happens because the function dereferences the result of ACPI COMPANION() without verifying its presence. Since platform drivers can be forced to match devices that do not match their device IDs via device match driver override(), force-binding the driver to a device lacking an ACPI companion object triggers the crash.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
