Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the Universal Disk Format (UDF) implementation where an I/O error during the writing of the Logical Volume Integrity Descriptor (LVID) buffer to a block device causes the end buffer write sync() function to clear the BH Uptodate flag. If the filesystem is later synced or remounted as read-write, the udf open lvid() or udf sync fs() functions may modify the LVID buffer and call mark buffer dirty(). This sequence triggers a spurious warning in mark buffer dirty() because the buffer is not marked as uptodate, despite the in-memory data remaining valid.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
