Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A heap information leak exists in the atmel-sha204a crypto component. The nonblocking RNG path allocates a work data structure to track asynchronous I2C requests, storing the pointer in rng->priv. When an I2C transfer fails, the completion callback is triggered with a non-zero status, but the pointer in rng->priv remains uncleared. This allows subsequent read attempts to observe stale state and incorrectly interpret it as valid completion data.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
