Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the CXL mailbox implementation where the
out.size parameter is not bounded. When CXL MEM SEND COMMAND is used, the cxl mbox cmd ctor() function calls kvzalloc(out.size) without restricting the size to the mailbox payload. A excessively large out.size can trigger a massive memory allocation, leading to a kernel taint or a system panic if panic on warn is enabled.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
