Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A slab-use-after-free issue exists in the nvdimm component, specifically within the virtio pmem driver. The issue occurs when the virtio pmem host ack() function attempts to wake a request that has already been freed by the submitter. This happens because the request token remains reachable via the virtqueue while virtio pmem flush() returns and frees the associated memory. The flaw was identified via KASAN reporting a use-after-free in the wake up common() function.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
