Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A deadlock can occur during device registration in the I3C master component. The function i3c master register new i3c devs() registers new devices while holding the i3c bus normaluse lock() as a read lock. Because device register() may immediately trigger a probe, and probe callbacks often call I3C helpers that attempt to acquire the same i3c bus normaluse lock(), a recursive lock acquisition occurs. Since read-write semaphores (rwsems) do not support recursive read locking, the system can deadlock if a writer is waiting.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
