Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
libbson (affected versions not specified)
Description
An integer underflow occurs in the
bson new from buffer() function when processing BSON data with a zero-length prefix. The function fails to verify that the 32-bit document length read from the input buffer is at least 5, which is the minimum valid BSON document size. If the length field is zero, the calculation for the document's null terminator wraps to UINT32 MAX, leading to a heap out-of-bounds read. This condition allows an unauthorized party to provide crafted BSON input to cause a denial of service by crashing the process.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
