Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
osmo-iuh versions 0.1.0 through 1.8.0
Description
A reachable assertion in the
ranap handle co dt() function can be triggered by an arbitrarily sized NAS-PDU (Network Access Stratum Protocol Data Unit), which is a unit of data used for signaling between the mobile device and the core network. This leads to a process crash and remote denial of service.Recommendations
Update osmo-iuh to a version later than 1.8.0 to ensure oversized RANAP NAS-PDUs are rejected.
Fix
Assertion Failure
