Description Formatting a POD document with excessive =over nesting can lead to CPU and memory exhaustion. Each =over element increases the margin, which the wrap() function subtracts from the output width to determine available text space. If the available space reaches zero, the line-splitting substitution matches an empty string, causing a loop that consumes no input while continuously appending margin padding. This results in a process that never returns and consumes memory until the system is exhausted.

Recommendations Update Pod::Text to version 6.1.1 or later.
