Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
temporalio/sqlparser (affected versions not specified)
Temporal Server (affected versions not specified)
Description
A panic occurs when the
Parse, ParseStrictDDL, or ParseNext functions process a MySQL version comment that is empty or contains only one to five decimal digits. This happens because the ExtractMysqlComment() function fails to validate the -1 result from strings.IndexFunc before using it as a slice boundary, leading to a Go runtime panic. In Temporal Server, this is exposed via the ListWorkers API endpoint. An authenticated user with namespace read permissions can send a malformed query to terminate the Matching process, potentially leading to a sustained denial of service. This issue impacts availability without affecting confidentiality or integrity.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
