Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the SMB client DFS cache where the get tgt name() function returns an error pointer when the ce->tgthint variable is NULL. Additionally, the dfs cache noreq update tgthint() function fails to validate the ce->tgthint pointer, which can lead to NULL pointer dereferences. A NULL pointer dereference occurs when a program attempts to read or write to a memory address that is NULL, typically resulting in a system crash.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
