Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
clocksource/drivers/timer-sun4i driver where the sun4i clkevt next event() function incorrectly advertises TIMER SYNC TICKS as the min delta ticks. This allows the clockevents core to call set next event() with a value equal to TIMER SYNC TICKS, resulting in a zero-tick interval being programmed into the hardware interval register. When using oneshot, highres, or nohz timer operations, this can cause the next event to become stuck, leading to a boot hang on Allwinner D1 hardware.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
