VectorAV:L/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A resource leak occurs in the fsl-imx8mq-usb PHY driver. If the probe process fails after the imx95 usb phy get tca() function succeeds, the typec switch is not properly released because the cleanup logic was only implemented in the .remove() function, which does not execute during a probe failure.
Recommendations Implement devm add action or reset() to ensure the typec switch is cleaned up during both probe failure and driver removal. Remove the imx95 usb phy put tca() function from the .remove() path as it becomes redundant.
