Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the handling of gigantic bootmem HugeTLB pages. These pages are initialized via
hugetlb init(), but page alloc init late() executes earlier and examines pageblocks to determine zone contiguity. When a bootmem HugeTLB region is marked as noinit, the set zone contiguous() function may encounter uninitialized struct pages through pageblock pfn to page(). This can lead to an incorrect zone contiguity state calculation or trigger an early boot panic if poisoned-page checks, such as PF POISONED CHECK() in page zone id(), are active.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
