Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the drm/xe component where the kernel may be tainted due to an unexpected warning during driver unbind. When a device is wedged in mode 2 (UPON ANY HANG NO RESET), a GSC proxy kernel submission may time out. Because killed queues skip the
guc submit hint wedged() function, the system fails to recognize the device is already wedged. Consequently, the timeout handler in the guc exec queue timedout job() function treats the timeout as an unexpected event, triggering a kernel warning.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
