Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the btrfs component during the cleanup of the reloc root within the merge reloc roots() function. The system resets the ->reloc root of a root with zero root references without employing necessary memory barriers. Additionally, the BTRFS ROOT DEAD RELOC TREE bit is cleared from the root even when the root does not point to the current reloc root. A memory barrier is required after setting ->reloc root to NULL and before clearing the BTRFS ROOT DEAD RELOC TREE bit to ensure proper synchronization.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
