Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
libipw rx() function where the system fails to properly validate the length of the socket buffer (skb) before accessing the WEP key index. Specifically, the guard only verifies that skb->len is greater than or equal to hdrlen + 3, which does not sufficiently protect the byte at hdrlen + 3 during both the software-decrypt key selection and the hardware-decrypted IV/ICV strip paths.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
