Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description A memory leak and improper error handling exist in the ksmbd module. When the ndr decode v4 ntacl() function fails, the system fails to execute kfree(acl.sd buf), resulting in a memory leak. Additionally, if the acl.sd size variable is smaller than the size of struct smb ntsd, the system incorrectly returns a success status without freeing the sd buf buffer and leaves a stale *pntsd pointer.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
