Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An issue exists in the amdkfd driver where the buffer size for returning buffer object (bo) metadata to user space is controlled by the user. A malicious user in the render group can provide a hostile value, such as 2 GiB, to trigger an order-MAX allocation or an Out-Of-Memory (OOM) condition within the kernel context. This occurs during the AMDKFD IOC GET DMABUF INFO ioctl operation.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
