Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A memory leak exists in the
intel rapl component of the powercap subsystem. The issue occurs within the rapl add package cpuslocked() function when topology physical package id() or topology logical die id() returns a negative value. In this scenario, the function returns an error pointer without freeing the rapl package structure previously allocated by kzalloc obj(), leading to memory exhaustion over repeated failed package additions.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
